The most important question in BaZi analysis is: Is your Day Master Strong or Weak? This single determination changes everything — your favorable elements, career strategy, relationship approach, and life timing.
What Makes a Day Master Strong?
Your Day Master is Strong when:
- Same-element stems/branches appear multiple times in your chart
- The month pillar supports your element (e.g., Wood Day Master born in Spring)
- Resource stars (正印, 偏印) are abundant — you receive a lot of support
- Peer stars (比肩, 劫财) are present — you have natural allies
Strong = lots of natural energy. You're like a river with a strong current.
What Makes a Day Master Weak?
Your Day Master is Weak when:
- Your element appears rarely in the chart
- The month pillar works against your element (e.g., Fire Day Master born in Winter)
- Officer/Killing stars (正官, 七杀) dominate — lots of pressure
- Wealth stars (正财, 偏财) drain your energy
Weak = limited natural energy. You're like a stream that needs tributaries.
Strategy for Strong Day Masters
- You have excess energy — channel it into output (creativity, work, expression)
- Use controlling elements (财富, 官杀) to stay grounded
- Don't hoard — give, create, build
