What Are Earthly Branches?
The 12 Earthly Branches (地支, Dì Zhī) represent the earthly or "ground" energy. You know them as the Chinese Zodiac animals, but they're much more than that:

Hidden Stems (藏干)
Each Earthly Branch "hides" one or more Heavenly Stems inside it. This is like icebergs — the branch you see on the surface contains hidden stems beneath. These hidden stems reveal deeper layers of your personality and potential.
Branch Interactions
Branches interact through:
- Clashes (冲): Opposite branches (e.g., 子 vs 午) create tension and change
- Combination (合): Paired branches (e.g., 子+丑) create harmony
- Punishment (刑): Certain combinations create friction
- Harmony (三合): Three-branch groups create strong elemental alliances
